Pitch Marketing Group appoints Lucy Hutchinson as new Head of PR

Pitch Marketing Group has today announced a restructure which includes the promotion of former Director of Campaigns, Chris Allen, to the role of Managing Director, and the new hire of Lucy Hutchinson as Head of PR, to spearhead the integrated agency’s comms offer.

During almost a decade-long career at Pitch, Chris has played a fundamental role in some of the agency’s biggest triumphs and appointments; from winning the global PR account for Formula One in 2020, to leading multiple award-winning PR campaigns for the likes of Betfair, BT, the Premier League and Uber Eats. In his new role, Chris will report into Founding Partner, Henry Chappell, and will lead the agency’s continued expansion into new sectors and broader service offerings, including branded content production and sponsorship consultancy.

As part of the agency’s growth plan is the appointment of a new Head of PR, Lucy Hutchinson, who joins Pitch from her previous role as Associate Business Director at One Green Bean. Lucy’s appointment is aimed to expand Pitch’s consumer PR capabilities by building on its current client portfolio. With the likes of ASICS, BT, Beats by Dre and Red Bull already on the agency’s comms roster, Lucy will be focussing on further strengthening the agency’s consumer PR offering.

Lucy’s previous client experience includes the likes of adidas, Domino’s, NIVEA, Sky, P&G and The Body Shop at some of the UK’s leading consumer PR agencies, including Porter Novelli and Talk PR (now M&C Saatchi Talk).  At Pitch, she will head up an established team of 20 full-time PR specialists and will work alongside the Heads of Department for the agency’s two other specialist divisions: Pitch Partnerships and Pitch Productions.

Henry Chappell, Founding Partner of Pitch Marketing Group, said of the news:
“Chris has been a key player in our on-going success over the past few years and has ensured we have continued to produce some great work across the agency, despite the challenges of the pandemic. He thoroughly deserves his promotion to Managing Director.

Lucy is highly rated within the PR industry and we are delighted to have secured her services to head up our very successful PR division, where we already have a great roster of long-term clients, and a vibrant and dynamic team in place. We are excited by the opportunity that lies ahead.”
