Jose Mourinho signs three-year deal with BT Sport

Jose Mourinho has signed a three-year deal with BT Sport.  Jose has agreed to carry out various roles for BT Sport, including making football programmes, acting as a football expert, giving a manager’s perspective and becoming a BT Sport ambassador.

Mourinho, who with Chelsea FC won the Barclays Premier League in 2004/05 and 2005/06, did the FA Cup & League Cup double in 2006/07, won the UEFA Champions League with two different teams, FC Porto and FC Internazionale, as well as winning league titles in four different countries, kicks off his partnership with BT Sport with a role in the new BT Sport TV advert which airs for the first time on Saturday 12July at 20.50 before the Brazil v Netherlands game.

The Special One appears for the first time in a BT Sport ad, alongside the likes of Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge, Arsenal and England midfielder Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlaine and former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand. A series of new TV ads will air as part of the campaign which celebrates unmissable moments from some of the biggest games, shown on BT Sport in its Barclays Premier League debut season.

The TV treatment is just part of a multi-media campaign, which will also feature outdoor poster sites, press, online, radio and social media featuring BT Sport Ambassadors Jose Mourinho, Gareth Bale, Daniel Sturridge, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rio Ferdinand and Jake Humphrey.

Jose said: “I’m looking forward to working with BT Sport.  In their first year they have shown they are not afraid to challenge, are open to new ideas and want to do things differently. This is the kind of team and ambition that I want to work with.”

The new TV ad was created by AMV BBDO, produced by Academy films and media buying has been done by Maxus.

BT Sport also has the rights to live top tier matches from the FA Cup, Scottish Professional Football League, UEFA Europa League and the German Bundesliga, Serie A in Italy, Ligue 1 in France, Brasileiro in Brazil and Major League Soccer in the USA.
