Drew Barrand has joined as Associate Director, following five years as Head of Media and Communications at Benchmark Sport.
Barrand will be responsible for overseeing a number of key clients at Pitch in addition to identifying and driving the marketing for the agency. He joins with a total of 13 years’ experience in the sport industry, having spent eight years as a journalist before joining Benchmark Sport. As a journalist he wrote for all major newspapers in a freelance capacity as well as roles at Centaur, Haymarket and Sport Business. He has also made numerous TV and radio appearances as a pundit on business of sport issues.
During his time at Benchmark Sport he was heavily involved with the renowned Sport Industry Awards; the global sport and development initiative Beyond Sport; sports talent management agency Benchmark Talent; and City-focused sports participation brand Square Mile Sport.
The talent, brands and organisations he has worked with during this time include David and Victoria Beckham, Jenson Button, Michael Johnson, Ian Thorpe, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Barclays, Bloomberg, EA Sports, HSBC, McDonald’s, the Premier League, United Airlines, and Virgin Active.
