Epson Partners with the Vitality World Triathlon London 2015

The prestigious Vitality World Triathlon London event has announced that Epson, the creator of the innovative new Runsense SF-810 sports monitor, has come on board as the Official Timing Partner of the 2015 event.

Incorporating a wealth of technological expertise including a GPS tracker, Smart Stride sensor and built-in, Epson-developed, optical sensor to measure the user’s heart rate directly from the wrist, the Runsense SF-810 sports monitor helps triathletes benefit and learn more from every run. By using its own technology, Epson has created a highly energy efficient device that is capable of active GPS tracking and heart rate measuring for up to 20 hours without recharging – more than two times longer than comparable products. The Epson Runsense SF-810 also includes functionality for cycling tracking distance, time elapsed, speed and laps making it the ideal multi-function watch for triathlon.

Speaking of the partnership, Annika Fagerstrom, consumer director at Epson UK, said:

“As a company we are proud of our rich heritage in sport.  This stems from the world’s first printing timer created for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, to our more recent partnerships with Manchester United Football Club and our global partnership with the 2014 world champion MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team.  As a manufacturer of compact, high precision products, we understand the importance of accuracy and performance and helping athletes achieve their goals.  We are delighted to be partnering with Vitality World Triathlon London this year”

These sentiments were echoed by Tim Stemp, Managing Director of event organisers, Lagardère Unlimited Events UK, who said:

“The Vitality World Triathlon London is an exciting, premium event and we are delighted to welcome Epson as a partner who will add great value to our participants’ journey through their innovative products. We look forward to working with Epson.”

Marisol Casado, President of the ITU, commented on the partnership,

“We look forward to welcoming and working with Epson at the London leg of the World Triathlon Series 2015. The company’s drive for excellence in performance translates well to the focus and determination needed to compete in triathlon.”

Widely regarded as the UK’s most prestigious triathlon, the Vitality World Triathlon London is now in its sixth year and will once again welcome over 5,000 participants of all abilities, as well as the world’s best triathletes and paratriathletes, to take part in the fifth stop of the ITU World Triathlon Series.
