Pitch appoints Nick Meakin as Account Director

Pitch, the UK’s leading sports and sponsorship communications consultancy, has announced the appointment of Nick Meakin as Account Director.

Nick joins Pitch from Lexis Agency, where he was an Account Director managing the global press office for the Barclays Premier League sponsorship, as well as leading on Lexis’ work with Copa Coca-Cola, DHL’s rugby sponsorships and ITV’s 2014 World Cup digital ‘Goal Face’ campaign. In 2012 he worked as a consultant for Visa Europe’s London 2012 Olympic sponsorship campaign and as a spokesperson for the Ticketmaster crisis communications team. Nick started his career working as sports journalist and subsequently worked for the Football Association and London Irish Rugby Club.

Nick will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Pitch accounts ranging from BT Sport to QBE. In addition he will contribute to the agency’s marketing strategy and new business pitches.

Pitch was founded by Henry Chappell in 2003 and has grown to a 40-strong team based at its Soho HQ. Pitch has an impressive list of brands, sports properties and media clients on its roster, with international clients now accounting for more than half of the business. Current clients include ASICS, Betfair, BT Sport, NBA, Red Bull, Virgin and Yahoo! Pitch has been shortlisted as ‘Agency of the Year’ at the Sport Industry Awards for three consecutive years.
