Roxy sailor Sam Davies completes the Vendée Globe.

On Valentines Day 2008 at 00:41, Roxy sailor Sam Davies completed her first 27,470 mile solo, non-stop round the world Vendée Globe race in an incredible time of just over 95 days.

Pitch was there to meet her having crafted an international communications strategy that ran for the duration of the race.

Filing regular stories and video updates from onboard Roxy, Sam has become a household name for her endeavors at sea. Sam came in third on the water and fourth overall, posting the second fastest time ever for a female Vendée Globe skipper.

‘La petite anglaise’, as she became affectionately know by her thousands of fans was one of just 11 skippers from an original fleet of 30 to finish the race, along the way executing a dramatic ‘Mercy Mission’ in 50ft seas to save a French skipper with a broken leg, battling monster icebergs and defying the odds to become the first British sailor home.
