Pitch Launch Andy's US Open Kit.
Having touched down in the Big Apple ahead of his quest to win his first ever Grand Slam, Andy Murray took to the rooftop courts at the Manhattan Plaza Racquet Club in New York yesterday to unveil his new look for the 2009 US Open.
Pitch accompanied Murray to New York following his kit launch for Wimbledon in June. The Wimbledon kit, inspired by Fred Perry himself, lies at the forefront of the design for Andy's US Open campaign.
This kit, specifically designed for Murray’s appearance at the US Open 2009, features a full range of clothing from a royal blue collared performance shirt and tailored white shorts, to a white cotton tennis bomber jacket and white kit bag.
Every item in the kit features Andy Murray’s initials stitched underneath the Fred Perry laurel, inspired by the bespoke shirts that Fred Perry designed for clients and friends such as John F Kennedy, Arthur Ashe and Billie Jean King.
Currently World number two, Murray goes into the US Open as the highest ranked British tennis player since Fred Perry, who was the last British man to win the title in 1936.
