Pitch unveil Andy Murray's Wimbledon 2009 outfit from Fred Perry.
Journalists flocked to The Tramshed in East London to see Andy Murray step out on stage sporting his new Fred Perry kit that he will be wearing in SW19. Andy worked closely with Fred Perry designers to develop the new outfit which has a unique blend of heritage and performance.
The fitted outfit takes inspiration from classic Fred Perry polo shirts from the 1950s and 1960s and includes a ivory knitted v-neck sweater inspired by clothing worn by Fred Perry in the 1930s.
The outfit also includes Andy's very own monogram that has been stitched underneath the Fred Perry laurel. Traditionally, Fred Perry only rewarded close friends and clients with this personal touch and Andy follows in the foot steps of greats such John F Kennedy and Billie Jean King in sporting personalised shirts.
Andy and his brother Jamie will wear these exclusive outfits at Wimbledon next week.
Andy Murray hopes to emulate the successful launch of his kit by becoming the first British man to win Wimbledon since Perry in 1936. Tennis and fashion fans can look forward to seeing additions to this new kit when Murray steps out on court at the All England Club next week.
