Calling All Runners – Can You Beat The Sun?

Attention, Attention: Calling all runners…

Do you have what it takes? You have 15 hours and 41 minutes between sunrise and sunset to make it around Mont Blanc, covering 148km and climbing higher than Mt Everest.

Today, ASICS launched a global search for amateur runners to take part in the annual ’ASICS Beat the Sun’; a unique running relay race which returns to Chamonix on June 21st, the longest day of the year.

Building on last year’s inaugural success, this year ASICS has updated the race with a more exciting and unique format.

5 continents battling it out: the teams will represent America, Asia-Pacific and Africa, with two teams from Europe. Each team will contain three professional athletes and three amateurs and as a result, ASICS is looking for a total of fifteen amateurs to put their name forward for selection, with six chosen from across Europe (one from each of UK, Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Spain), three from America, three from Africa and three from Asia-Pacific.

Amateur recruitment is open from March 18th until April 15th with runners selected based on their motivation and experience.

This challenge aims to inspire people to take on a challenge to surpass themselves. Aligning with ASICS’ recently launched ‘It’s a big world. Go run it’ campaign which aims to inspire everyday people to experience the different worlds of running.
